Women's Basketball Set to Host New Hampshire on Saturday

Fresh off an upset of first place Maine, the UMBC Women's Basketball team looks to continue to improve its playoff seeding when it hosts New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon at The Peake.

Last time out, UMBC was down 12 late in the first half and eventually erased a 10-point halftime deficit to stun first place Maine, 67-59, on Thursday night at The Peake.


UMBC (9-17, 5-9 AE) used an 18-2 that spanned the second and third quarters to get in front of Maine (18-9, 11-2 AE) for good.

Anna Blount led the Retrievers with 17 points and nine rebounds, while Jordon Lewis tallied 12 points and Jaden Walker added 11.
 
Scouting the New Hampshire:
- New Hampshire fell at NJIT, 64-52, on Thursday in Newark
- Belen Morales Lopez had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds
- Adara Groman had a team-high 11 points
- UNH led in fast break points, 9-2.
All-Time Series:
- UNH took a 20-19 lead in the all-time series after defeating UMBC, 56-37, on January 20 in New Hampshire
- The win ended the Retrievers three-game winning streak in the series
- Trinity Palacio scored a team-high 11 points, but New Hampshire used a 33-9 run over the final 17 minutes 
- The hosts pulled away by out-scoring the Retrievers, 15-2, in the fourth.
