BECOME A MEMBER OF THE RETRIEVER CLUB

In a rapidly evolving Division I collegiate athletic landscape, donations to UMBC Athletics are critical to providing the resources needed for our student-athletes to compete at the highest level. UMBC Athletics is excited to launch the Retriever Club, as the official engagement and fundraising arm of UMBC Athletics! Membership in the Retriever Club provides resources that directly benefit the nearly 400 student-athletes in critical areas such as academic services, recruiting, operations, nutrition, and physical and mental health well-being.
   

WHY JOIN THE RETRIEVER CLUB?

As a member of the Retriever Club, you’ll join a community of dedicated UMBC Athletic donors and supporters who make a significant impact on the student-athlete experience. Our state budget supports the basic operational needs of our teams and department for nutrition, training, and competitions. Those funds don’t cover additional opportunities that will help elevate the student-athlete experience. Philanthropic gifts to the Retriever Club will support advanced nutrition during travel competitions, more opportunities to compete out-of-region across the country, specialized training equipment, enhanced facilities upgrades, and mental health and well-being resources for our student-athletes.
   

AREAS TO SUPPORT

Annual gifts provide the foundation UMBC Athletics needs to enhance the student-athlete experience. Consistent support keeps our teams ready to compete and succeed every season.

Sport-Specific Giving - Our sport-specific team funds allow alumni, parents, friends, and fans to give back to the team they feel most connected to and directly impact each team's ability to compete at the highest level. 
UMBC Athletics General Fund (Unrestricted) - The UMBC Athletics General Fund is designed to provide UMBC Athletic Department with the necessary funds to enhance all areas of the student-athlete experience. These funds benefit all UMBC Student-athletes.
Endowment Funds - These endowment funds to UMBC Athletics provide lasting support for team development, student-athlete scholarships, or coaching excellence. A portion of the annual income from these investments is used for immediate needs of the department. While the remaining funds are reinvested to ensure indefinite support.
    

MEMBERSHIP

Whether you give to a sport-specific team fund, the athletics department general fund, endowment, or scholarship, your gift automatically makes you a member of the Retriever Club. Retriever Club membership provides exclusive benefits for you as a donor. Your membership begins as soon as you make your gift and runs until the end of the fiscal year (July 1 - June 30). Donors must renew their support each fiscal year to maintain membership.
