Women's Basketball Heads North for Colgate Thanksgiving Tournament

The UMBC Women's Basketball team leaves the state of Maryland for the first time as they travel to central New York for the Colgate Thanksgiving Tournament. 

The Retrievers will face the host Raiders at 1 p.m. on Friday, and then will play either Akron or Iona at a to be determined time on Saturday.

UMBC dropped a 60-50 decision to visiting Manhattan on Sunday evening at the Peake. Talia Davis recorded 14 points and a career-high with ten rebounds for her first career double-double, and the UMBC Women's Basketball team trimmed a 16 point deficit down to 5 in the fourth, but couldn't complete the comeback.

Jaden Walker also tallied 14 points, while Jordon Lewis led all players with 15 points. 

Colgate (4-2) overcame St. Bonaventure, 82-72 on Saturday afternoon at the Reilly Center.Christina Midgette recorded her first career double-double 

With just over five minutes left, Madison Schiller forced the ball out on the St. Bonaventure inbound and dished it to Christina Midgette. Midgette pump faked before going up through contact, making the bucket and getting the foul. Midgette sank the ensuing free throw giving the junior her first career double-double and the Raiders a 71-57 lead.

Akron (2-4) and Iona (0-4) will play at 4 p.m. The result of that game will determine who and when the Dawgs play on Saturday.
