Off to its best start to America East play since the 2010-11 America East regular season championship team, the UMBC Women's Basketball team (9-10, 6-2 AE) will host Vermont (14-6, 6-2) on Saturday afternoon at The Peake.
The game will have a noon tip-off, and it will be broadcast on ESPN3.
Last Time Out:
- UMBC sophomore guard Laycee Drake's 23-foot, one-footed jumper with 0.2 seconds remaining gave the Retrievers a thrilling 61-60 victory over NJIT in an America East Conference contest at Chesapeake Arena.

Scouting Vermont:
- The Catamounts earned their sixth consecutive win Wednesday night defeating Binghamton 63-56 at Patrick Gym
- Richason posted a career high with 21 points on an efficient 66.7 percent shooting from the floor and 75.0 percent shooting from three. She also grabbed down six rebounds and dished out a game-high four assists.
- Utterback had 14 points, three assists and three rebounds.
- Olson finished with 10 points while recording six rebounds and two assists
- The Catamounts shot 45.3 percent for the game while holding the Bearcats to 38.6 percent.
- Vermont's last loss was a 58-57 home defeat to UMBC on January 1
All-Time Series:
- Vermont leads the all-time series, 22-19, and had won four straight until UMBC's New Years Day victory
- Visiting UMBC outscored Vermont, 14-5, to open the fourth quarter and held off the Catamounts late to secure the victory
- Graduate student wing KK White tied her season high and led all scorers with 18 points, hitting 8-of-13 shots from the floor.
- Classmate forward Kiara Bell hauled down a career high 18 rebounds and added 9 points for UMBC.
