Women's Basketball Set To Host Richmond on Thursday

BALTIMORE -- After a pair of road contests, the UMBC Women's Basketball team makes a brief return home when it hosts Richmond on Thursday night. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. and the game will air on ESPN+. UMBC will then hit the road for five straight games over the next month before returning home on 12/18 to host American.

LAST TIME OUT

- Keelah Dixon (Boston, Mass.) scored a team-best 21 points, while Ashia McCalla (Greenbelt, Md.) added 13 points, five rebounds and three steals, but the Retrievers (1-2) fell to host Loyola, 61-47, at Reitz Arena on Sunday afternoon.

- Dixon's 21 points were her most in a UMBC uniform, as she shot 7-of-11 from the field, including 3-of-3 from three.

- McCalla and Dixon hit back-to-back threes early in the fourth to trim the Loyola lead to 52-40, but the Greyhounds would hold-off UMBC the rest of the way to earn the victory.

- Kiara Bell (Santa Rosa, Calif.) also had a solid game for the Retrievers, finishing with nine points, seven rebounds and a pair of blocks.
