BALTIMORE-- Retriever baseball will host the Seawolves in their final home series of the regular season on Saturday and Sunday. The Retrievers are currently 16-20, 11-20 AE on the year sitting in fourth place in Division B. UMBC is coming off a 2-2 weekend at Binghamton last weekend winning both games on Sunday after dropping two on Saturday.

Scouting the Retrievers:
-UMBC comes into the final home weekend at 16-20, 11-20 AE on the year after a 2-2 weekend at Binghamton. The Retrievers dropped both games on Saturday by scores of 9-0 and 3-2 before sweeping the Sunday games, 1-0 and 8-3. Luke Johnson (Lewes, Del.) hurled a complete game shutout on Sunday to help break a seven-game losing streak.
-Ian Diaz (Philadelphia, Pa.) leads the team at the dish with a .356 batting average with a team-best 42 hits, eight home runs, and 26 RBI. Christian Torres (Miami, Fla.) and Christian Easley (Collinsville, Va.) have driven in 25 runs each as UMBC is batting .269 as a team with 36 home runs and 225 RBI.
-Shane Gorman (Orland Park, Ill.) leads the pitching staff with a 1.04 ERA in 8.2 innings of work. Johnson and Reid Celata (Virginia Beach, Va.) lead the rotation with a 5.27 and 5.40 ERA respectively. Johnson has struck out a team-best 34 batters in 41.0 innings of work.
Scouting the Seawolves:
-Stony Brook heads to Baltimore at 24-15, 20-8 AE on the year having split their last series against NJIT. The Seawolves won game two and three after falling in game one 2-0 and game four 7-5. Stony Brook is 14-11 at home compared to 10-4 on the road this season.
-Evan Giordano leads the Seawolves at the dish with a .333 batting average with a team-best 46 hits, six home runs, and 34 RBI. Chris Hamilton and John LaRocca are batting over .300 at .333 and .320 respectively. As a team Stony Brook is batting .266 with 70 stolen bases.
-Sam Turcotte leads the rotation and the pitching staff as a whole with a 2.59 ERA in 10 starts with a 5-3 record. He has struckout 61 batters in 62.2 innings of work. NIck DeGennaro leads the staff with 63 strikeouts with a 6-2 record.
All-Time Series:
-The Retrievers and Seawolves have met 78 times prior to this weekend, including four games earlier this season. Stony Brook leads the series 62-16 after sweeping the Retrievers this season. UMBC dropped four close games on Long Island and have beaten the Seawolves just three times since 2018.

-UMBC will honor eight seniors prior to the start of Sunday's games. Christian Torres, Luke Belanger (Alexandria, Va.), Dmitri Floyd (Dover, Del.), Joey Goodwin (Rockville, Md./Good Counsel), Max Goron (Laurel, Md./Resevoir), Ryan Brown (Hagerstown, Md./St. James), Cameron Taylor (Leesburg, Va.), Ryan Cole (Endwell, N.Y.), and Greg Albert (Medford, N.J.) will be playing their final games for the Retrievers at Alumni Field this weekend.
