BALTIMORE - With the UMBC men's soccer team ready to kick off on Thursday, August 20, against UNC Wilmington, the Retrievers are excited to welcome 15 newcomers to the program for the 2026-27 season.
Joining 13 returners for UMBC are eight transfers and seven freshmen.

Joe Pollard - Junior - Goalkeeper
- An NJCAA All-American at Tyler College, Pollard comes to UMBC with a sterling JUCO record. Pollard, a Perth, Australia native, started 27 games in two seasons at Tyler, posting a 24-1-1 record. He was twice named to the NJCAA All-America Team and once to the United Coaches Association All-America Team. His team allowed just two goals in a historic 2025 campaign. Prior to college, Pollard played on the 2022 NPLWA Top 4 Cup Championship Team.

Jayson Bentum - Sophomore - Defender
- Bentum, a Wenonah, N.J. native, joins the Retrievers after spending a season with St. Joseph's. Bentum won a pair of New Jersey State Prep Championships with The Pennington School and a national championship in 2023. Other accolades include 2024 Trentonian All-Prep First Team honors, 2024 Trentonian All-Area Second Team honors, 2024 Best of East Cup All-Star selection, 2025 National Academy Championship All-Star selection.

Alberto Galicia - Graduate - Midfielder
- A Madrid, Spain native, Galicia joins the Retriever midfield, making his collegiate debut in the States. Galicia was a five-year captain with his club in Spain. Galicia most recently competed for UD Sanse B in Tercera Division RFEF, scoring three goals in 2025-26. In four seasons with the club, Galicia scored five goals in 122 matches.

Tancredi Fadda - Gradutate - Forward
- Named a team captain after spending the spring with the Retrievers, Fadda comes to UMBC after playing at Evansville in 2025. Fadda began his career at Evansville in 2022 before heading back to Italy to attend the University of Milan in 2023 and 2024. In 29 games with Evansville, Fadda scored four goals, including a brace versus Louisville in 2025. Fadda scored the game-winner for the Aces against Western Michigan.

Abdul Kamara - Junior - Forward
- A Woodbridge, Va. native, Kamara comes to UMBC after spending three years at George Mason, competing in 23 games with the Patriots. During his time at GMU, Kamara saw more than 600 minutes of action, scored three goals and handed out an assist. Kamara scored in his collegiate debut against the Retrievers and added a goal against West Virginia in 2025. Kamara grew up in Freetown, Sierra Leone where his father played professional soccer for Mighty Blackpools before moving to the United States when he turned 10.

Abdi Bahur - Junior - Forward
- Bahur, a Toronto native, started his collegiate career at Eastern Tennessee State before transferring to Akron for the 2025 campaign. In 2024 at ETSU, Bahur played in 16 matches, making six starts. He handed out six assists, including setting an ETSU freshman record with three assists in his first career match versus Longwood. Bahur appeared in one match at Akron in 2025. As a u17 player, Bahur competed for Somalia in the African Cup of Nations.

Lance Talley - Junior - Forward
- Talley comes to UMBC from Daytona State where his team reached the NJCAA Men's Soccer Championship in 2025. Talley scored six goals and added two assists in 2025, making eight starts and competing in 16 contests. He scored four goals in a game vs. #10 Monroe University. As a freshman in 2024, Talley saw time in 13 games and added an assist. Prior to college, Talley's Florida Kraze Krush club finished as the ECNL National Runner-Up.

Moritz Krug - Graduate - Midfielder
- From Hessen, Germany, Krug joins the Retrievers after playing for SV Adler Weidenhausen. Krug was also a u17 & u19 player for Baunatal. During his career for Adler Weidenhausen, Krug appeared in 103 matches, scoring four goals in the Oberliga.

Nico Banks - Defender
- Banks, a 6-6 defender from Brunswick, Md., comes to UMBC from the DC United Academy. Banks played for Bethesda Soccer Club and comes from an athletic family with dad (Bowie State) and brother (Old Dominion) both playing college football.

Langston Fabiyi - Forward
- Another DC United Academy product, Fabiyi hails from Rockville, Md. and Thomas Wootton. Fabiyi appeared in a match versus a collection of the top Ghanian players in the world in front of a large crowd at Audi Field with the club. Fabiyi also played with the Alexandria Reds in the NPSL after earning a call-up from the u23 team.

Jared Middleton - Defender
- Middleton, a Sydney, Australia native, recently played for Sydney FC II in the New South Wales National Premier League, appearing in 22 matches. Middleton appeared in nearly 50 matches with the club after joining in 2023. Other experience includes a u19 runner-up in Germany, a u16 championship w/ Sydney, a stint with the Australian Schoolboys u19 club, and the Australian u16 team.

Flynn Holdem - Forward
- A Christchurch, New Zealand native, Holdem was named the Nomads United Player of the Year at age 17 and has been a successful three-sport athlete in New Zealand. Holdem played volleyball, winning the 2022 u17 championship, while also competing in cricket for Canterbury as a u17 & u19 athlete. From 2023-2026, Holdem competed in 58 matches for Nomads United, scoring 33 goals.

Jack Reilly - Winger
- A College Park, Md. native and DeMatha Catholic product, Reilly played his club ball for Maryland United and helped the club win its first ECNL championship in history as they captured the 25-26 North Atlantic Conference Championship.

Enzo Sosa - Forward
- Another local product, Sosa hails from Rockville, Md. and The Heights School where he earned All-WCAC honors. Sosa played club ball for Baltimore Armour.

Kofi Koumi - Goalkeeper
- A 3x Montgomery County All-Division West selection at goalkeeper, Koumi comes to UMBC from Seneca Valley High School. A Boyds, Md. native, Koumi's clubs also reached the APL Finals twice.
