The UMBC Baseball team will look to earn a top two seed and a bye in the America East tournament as it concludes the regular season by hosting NJIT for a three-game series beginning on Thursday at 6 p.m. Senior Day ceremonies will take place on Saturday prior to a 1 p.m. first pitch.
UMBC (25-22, 12-9) currently sits in second place in the America East standings. A sweep would clinch the two-seed and a bye to the double elimination portion of the playoffs, while a sweep combined with a UMass Lowell sweep of Binghamton would earn the Dawgs a share of the regular season title (but still the No.2 seed). The Retrievers need at least one win to clinch a top 3 seed.
