The UMBC Baseball team (16-15, 5-4 AE) looks to get back into the win column as it hosts UMass Lowell for a key three-game America East series this weekend. Friday's game one will be at 6 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. Saturday contest, and a 1 p.m. finale on Sunday.
UMBC Baseball will honor the life and legacy of Patrick Phillips ('17) in a 2:45 p.m. ceremony.
There will be a free mini helmet and ice cream for the first 250 fans, presented by High's. In addition, Grubbing Hard BBQ Food Truck will be on site for fans.

Danny Orr hit a two-run homer, and
Bennett Speicher pitched four solid innings prior to a rain delay as the Retrievers dropped a 9-3 decision to visiting Georgetown on Tuesday night. The game was called after one pitch in the bottom of the ninth due to rain
Orr's blast gave UMBC a 2-1 lead in the third, but the Georgetown bats would awaken after a 53 minute rain delay in the bottom of the fourth as they exploded for six runs in the fifth to pull away.
Speicher allowed just one earned run on three hits with three strike outs and no walks.
Grant Teschendorf made his first appearance since February 22, 2025 and struck out two in a scoreless appearance.
Cole Koonce worked two hitless and scoreless innings of relief, striking out three.
Joe Lomangino tripled and scored on a
Luke Buscaglia single in the seventh, while
Dylan Melton,
Danny Wyatt,
Ehi Okojie,
Jacob Bagania and
Kyle Eddington also had hits for the Dawgs.
Scouting UMass Lowell:
Redshirt-sophomore Sean O'Leary (Foxboro, Mass.) had an exceptional day at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two homers and a double, while also recording four runs and four RBI, as the UMass Lowell baseball team (14–18, 5–7 AE) exploded for a 20–10 victory in eight innings against Stonehill at Edward A. LeLacheur Park on Tuesday afternoon.
UMass Lowell totaled 20 runs on 20 hits in the game, marking its highest-scoring performance since April 19, 2022, when the River Hawks erupted for 29 runs at Bryant. Freshman Cal Chance (Wolcott, Conn.) tied the UMass Lowell Division I single-game hits record for the second time this season, knocking five in his six plate appearances with four runs and four RBI in the contest. Senior Carlos Martinez (Coamo, Puerto Rico) was also great at the plate, hitting 3-for-6 with three RBI and a run, while also recording a save in 1.0 inning of work. Starting on the mound, junior Evan Cornelius (Milford, Mass.) pitched 2.2 innings in the contest, while freshman Tyler Dunlea (Attleboro, Mass.) earned the first victory of his collegiate career, going an inning and leaving the opposition hitless and scoreless.
