The UMBC Track & Field team will have its final tuneup for America East Championships when it competes at Liberty's Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational this Friday and Saturday.

Last time out, UMBC saw solid contributions across the board as it competed in the Sykes & Sabock Challenge on Saturday at Penn State. 

Ryan Hartranft (4:12.72) and Thomas Foulkes (4:14.44) finished sixth and seventh in the mile to lead the Retrievers. Maddie Wassin was the top finisher in the event on the Women's side with a time of 5:25.43 to finish 11th.

Simon Essono took 12th in the Men's 400M (49.69), Elizabeth Mitroka took fifth in the Women's 1000M and her twin sister Emily Mitroka finished 10th in the 800m in a time of 2:20.65.

In the 200M, Jayda Solomon finished ninth for the Women in a career-best 25.10, while Alim Raji took eight on the Men's side with a time of 21.99. Michael Heinemann used a time of 8:38.62 to take ninth in the 3000M after finishing 12th in the mile.
