UMBC Athletics Featured In Greater Baltimore Committee's New Regional Brand Video

On March 17, during its second annual Pulse Check event, UMBC Athletics was prominently featured as the Greater Baltimore Committee introduced a new, unifying economic brand for the Baltimore region. The organization showcased a video featuring the Retrievers' men's lacrosse team, which was viewed by nearly 400 business and civic leaders.

The event marked the culmination of an extensive two-year effort to position the Baltimore region for increased out-of-market business investment. This initiative began with the strategic merger of the Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC) and the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore in December 2022. The "Bold Moves" brand and messaging will serve as a platform for cultivating greater local, national, and international investment opportunities for the region.

"We appreciate the Greater Baltimore Committee for recognizing UMBC Athletics as a key component of the 'Bold Moves' brand," stated Tiffany D. Tucker, UMBC's Director of Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation. "Our brand aligns perfectly with this dynamic platform. At UMBC, our culture of collaboration drives powerful partnerships that enhance knowledge, stimulate economic growth, foster civic engagement, and champion social justice. Through impactful research, internships, athletic competition, career opportunities, and diverse experiences beyond the campus, we make a significant difference both locally and globally."
