Gassmann and Davanzo Break 100 Fly Records on Day 3 of America East Championships

Lexington, Va. -- Nicol Davanzo broke the UMBC record in a fourth place finish in the 100 fly, while Oliver Gassmann set the school and Conference record in winning the 100 fly for the fourth-straight year as the UMBC Swimming & Diving teams continued to shine on Day 3 of the America East Championships at VMI.

Gassmann's 46.13 finish in the 100 fly is also an NCAA 'B' Cut time, and he later on was the third member of the 400 Medley Relay team that set the school and Conference record in taking the gold by nearly four seconds. He was joined on the relay by Marko Kovacic, Christian Coleman and Boris Milev

Coleman won the 100 breast in 54.76 earlier in the day, while Milev took the silver in the 200 free in a school record time of 1:36.34.
