Lexington, Va. -- The UMBC Men's Swimming & Diving team continued to rack up medals at the America East Championships, as it took home seven more on Friday.
Freshman
Quinn Marchionini was the star of the day, picking up two gold medals in winning the 100 back in 48.03 and being the starter on the winning 400 medley relay team (3:13.37). He was joined on the relay by
Sean Neils,
Stefano Perez and
Braden Weise.
Weise, Neils and
Axel Mori all earned silver in individual events. Mori started off the night earning his in the 100 fly (47.67), followed by Weise touching the wall second in the 200 free in 1:37.58 and Neils getting his podium spot with a time of 54.42 in the 100 breast.
Felipe Taveira Lira picked up a bronze in the 400 IM (3:55.44).
In diving action,
Kaleb Cave earned his second bronze of the meet, as he scored a 285.00 in the 1M.
Aidan O'Callaghan and
Anders Logas placed fifth and sixth in the competition.Â
UMBC sits in first place after day 3 with 591.5 points, ahead of Binghamton's 546.Â
The final day of action at VMI begins on Saturday at 10 a.m.
