Lexington, Va. --
Ashley Gutshall and
Isaac Poole each took home gold medals as the UMBC Swimming and Diving teams continued their success at Day 2 of the America East Championships at VMI.
Gutshall broke the Meet and School record in the 50 free with a time of 22.65, and was followed by
Makaela Hill in second with a time of 22.90.
All five UMBC men's divers qualified for the 3M finals, as Poole took first with a score of 342.60, followed by a second place finish from
Anders Logas (324.85).
Andy Vines (318.20) and
Kaleb Cave (298.10) took fourth and fifth, while
Grant Moore placed seventh (265.30).
Oliver Gassmann took silver in the 50 free with a time of 19.88, while the women's 200 free relay team of Gutshall,
Claire Oettinger,
Elze Bielskute and Hill took second in a school record time of 1:32.38.Â
Day 3 begins at 10 a.m. on Friday.
