Ashley Gutshall holds her gold medal for winning the 100 free

Women's Swimming and Diving

Women's Swimming & Diving Finishes Strong at America East Championships

Lexington, Va. -- Ashley Gutshall set a another UMBC/America East/Meet record and Alice Marini picked up a silver as the UMBC Women's Swimming & Diving team finished the America East Championships strong on Saturday at VMI.

Gutshall's record-breaking swim came en route to winning gold in the 100 free in 49.20, breaking her own school record. 

Marini finished second in the 200 back in 1:58.95, missing out on gold by just .01 seconds.

Nicol Davanzo won the B final of the 200 fly in a time of 2:06.89.

UMBC finished fourth with 446 points
