BOSTON -- The UMBC Swimming & Diving team placed four on the America East All-Academic Team, tying for the league-high, the Conference announced on Wednesday.
Ashley Gutshall and
Alice Marini earned spots on the Women's team, while
Axel Mori and
Sean Neils were honored on the Men's side.

To be nominated, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, and must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average.
Gutshall became the first Retriever to compete at the NCAA Championships since 2017 as she qualified in the 50 free. At the America East Championships, Gutshall won a pair of golds, Marini earned four medals highlighted by gold in the 400 individual medley, Mori and Neils each won five medals, while Neils earned the America East Elite 18 Award given to the Student-Athlete competing in the Championships with the highest GPA.
