The UMBC Baseball team wraps-up its five game homestand on Tuesday at 6 p.m. against Georgetown.
Last time out,
Matt Ryan went 3-for-4 with a walk, a homer, two RBI and three runs scored to lead the UMBC Baseball team to a 12-7 victory over visiting UAlbany on Sunday to complete the three-game sweep.
All nine starters for UMBC (14-15, 6-3 AE) had at least one hit, and seven of them also scored at least one run.
Matthew Best also homered as he went 2-for-5, and
Justin Taylor,
Luke Trythall and
Dawson Baracani all also had two-hit games.
Sam Daniels pitched two scoreless innings of relief to pick up his second win of the season, while
Eddie Sargent worked a perfect ninth, with two strikeouts, to close out the game.
Scouting Georgetown:
- The Georgetown University baseball team swept the Butler Bulldogs winning game three of the series 15-2 in seven innings on Sunday.
- It was the first time in the last 20 years that the Hoyas have swept a conference opponent on the road.
- With the win, GU improved to 26-9 on the season and 8-1 in BIG EAST action.
- The Hoyas have won eight consecutive series, and have swept six three-game series so far this season
- GU enters on a six-game winning streak and has a high-powered offense that has mashed 44 homers on the season and has a combined average of .295
- Christian Ficca leads the way for the Hoyas with eight home runs, 45 RBI and a .355 average
