Biography

As a Graduate (2024):
  • America East All-Championship Team
  • Appeared in 50 games, starting 48
  • Had a season high four hits and six RBIs against Maryland on 4/3
  • Had seven hits and scored six runs in the America East Tournament
  • Hit .320 in 200 at-bats with 52 runs, 64 hits, 10 doubles, six home runs, and 43 RBIs
  • Had a .982 fielding percentage in the outfield
  • Went a perfect 7-for-7 in stolen base attempts

As a Senior (2023):
  • Appeared in 55 games, starting 54
  • Made a phenomenal diving catch in center field at Camden Yards against Navy on 3/29
  • Had a season high four hits and a home run against UAlbany on 5/14
  • Had three doubles and scored two runs in the America East Tournament 
  • Hit .342 in 199 at-bats with 48 runs, 68 hits, 10 doubles, two home runs, and 26 RBIs
  • Had a .982 fielding percentage with two assists in the outfield
  • Went 8-for-9 in stolen base attempts

As a Sophomore (2022):
  • Started 54 games (of 55) in his first season with the Retrievers
  • Led the Retrievers with six round-trippers and finished eighth in America East with a .438 on-base percentage
  • Produced six 3-hit games on the season
  • Hit home runs in back-to-back games versus Stony Brook (April 22 and 23) and eventual America East champion Binghamton (April 30 and May 1)
  • Banged out 11 hits in 23 at-bats (.478) and hit three home runs in six contests versus the Bearcats
  • Hit .341 in his last 13 games of the season, raising his average to .309
  • Stole successfully in his final eight attempts (8-of-9) on the season
  • Played an outstanding center field for UMBC, making several dazzling running grabs
COLLEGIATE
  • Started 27 of team's first 28 games in 2019 and was primary shortstop before being shut down in the second half due to injury.
  • Despite missing 11 games, still lead team with 16 walks.
  • Served as team's primary leadoff hitter for first month of season.
  • Led team with .325 average in Ivy League games.
 
BACKGROUND
  • Played for four years as a pitcher and shortstop at Flint Hill School, three times earning spots on All-State First Team and All-Conference teams
  • Garnered Washington Post Spring All-Met honorable mention three times.
  • Earned Atlantic Region honorable mention for 2018 Perfect Game All-Region teams.
  • Tabbed 14th among shortstops in Virginia and Top 500 nationally among classmates by Perfect Game.
  • Also played four years as a shooting guard and small forward with Flint Hill's basketball team. 
  • Lists favorite professional team as the NFL’s New York Giants
  • Son of Tana and Hugh Taylor and he has one brother, Jordan
