Towson, Md. - The 4x400 meter squad brought gold back to Hilltop Circle, as the quartet of
Genelle Stephens,
Caitlyn Bobb,
Leanne McDonald and Shanel Sibblies defeated second place Towson by over 10 second with a mark of 3:50.08.
Earlier, Stephens edged her nearest competitor to win the 400m hurdles in a time of 1:02.88 and inserted herself into eighth place on UMBC's all-time list.
Bobb, Sibblies and McDonald stretched out to compete in the 800 meters and finished 1-3-4.

Stellar showings and performances did not stop there as the Retrievers were strong in the field events. Sophomore
Marie Abongwa found herself with two top marks to kick off her outdoor campaign. She placed second in the hammer throw with a toss of 45.38m, the ninth-best mark in school history and took fourth in the shot put at 12.11m.
Back inside the track with the jumps, junior
Za'Kayza Parsons leaped to a silver placing with a leap fo 5.36m, while freshman
Kendal Jones finished third in the high jump at 1.50m.
