Biography

BACKGROUND
  • Began matriculating at UMBC in the winter of 2024 and will also compete for UMBC volleyball in the fall
  • Selected as the 2022-23 Fredericksburg Free Lance Star’s Athlete of the Year
  • Jumped 5’6” at the Region 6B Outdoor Championships, earned the top ranking headed into the state championships and qualified for the New Balance Outdoor Nationals
  • Also placed second in the triple jump and 100 hurdles and third in the shot put in the district championships
  • Won the district winter championships in the long jump and 55m hurdles
  • Named Commonwealth Setter of the Year in the fall of 2022, leading the Eagles to the state semi-final appearance
  • An honor roll student in all four years at Colonial Forge
  • Considered Temple, JMU, Delaware and George Mason, but selected UMBC “because of the amazing program and coaching staff”
  • Lists favorite movie as The Princess and the Frog and favorite book as Good for a Girl
  • Older sister Baylie competes in volleyball at Fairmont (WVa.) State
  • Daughter of Jamie and Grant Ostvig and has three other younger siblings
