Oliver Gassmann won the 100 fly and was part of a school record-setting 200 medley relay winning team as the UMBC Swimming & Diving team continued to shine on day two of the Bucknell Invitational.
Gassmann teamed up with
Ryan Harding,
Christian Coleman and
Sean Neils to win the 200 medley relay in 1:27.07. He then won the 100 fly in 46.85, the top mark in the America East this year by nearly a full second (the second place time also belongs to him).
Axel Mori won the B heat of the 100 fly and his time of 49.08 is the fifth fastest in the Conference this year,Â
Max Casey-Bolanos set a personal best when he won the C heat in 49.38, which is the fifth fastest in the America East this year.
On the women's side,
Breanna Smith (4:31.94) and
Ella Nadeau (4:37.03) both set personal best and America East top ten times in the 400 IM.
Ashley Gutshall put in the America East's fourth fastest 100 back time this year as she finished in 57.34.
Boris Milev took second in the 200 free in a time of 1:36.51 to break the school record set in 2013 by UMBC Hall of Famer Mohamed Hussein (1:36.55).
Anders Logas earned the bronze in the 1 meter diving with a score of 269.75.
The men currently sit in second place with 924 points. Delaware is in first with 941.5. The women have totaled 369.5 in a strong field and are in seventh.Â
The final day of the Bucknell Invitation begins on Sunday with preliminaries at 10 a.m., followed by finals at 5 p.m.
