Ashley Gutshall won the 50 free in a school record time, the Men's 200 free relay team won and set a school record, and
Anders Logas had a solid day on the diving board as the UMBC Swimming & Diving team had a strong showing on Day 1 of the Bucknell Invite.

Matt Donovan. "Every single relay swim was a season best and beat the seed time. It just shows how great we can be when we work together as a team."Â

Oliver Gassmann and
Bode Neale led the 200 free relay to a first place and school record finish of 1:19.22. It is one of the fastest 200 free relay times in America East history.
Gutshall won the 50 free in 22.91, just out-touching a UConn swimmer to take gold, while Gassmann took second in the men's 50 free.
Anders Logas scored an impressive 304.70 on the 3 meter dive to take third, teammate
Grant Moore reached the finals as well.
Coleman, Gassmann,
Marko Kovacic and
Boris Milev took home second in the 400 medley relay in a time of 3:14.95.
Bruna de Padua won the B final of the women's 500 free in 4:56.25, which was the fifth fastest time overall across all 500 free finals heats.
Andrew McEachern shaved nearly six seconds off his prelim time in men's 500 free to win the B final with a time of 4:29.57.
Day 2 of the Bucknell Invitational begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
