How It Happened:
  • UMBC (5-7) put a pair of runners on in each of the first two innings, but couldn't score

  • The Retrievers would get a run back in the top of the fifth when Christian Easley (Collinsville, Va.) would score on an error
  • TU would score a single run in the fifth, sixth and eighth to account for the final score
  • Myles NIcholson (Hagerstown, Md.) and Justin Taylor (Reston, Va.) were the only Retrievers with multiple hits in the game.
  • Shane Gorman (Orland Park, Ill.) pitched two scoreless innings of relief for UMBC.
The Retrievers return to action on Friday when they host Mount St. Mary's at Alumni Field. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
