For the second time this season, the UMBC baseball team (8-11) will take on Maryland (16-3) at Bob Smith Stadium in College Park. The game was originally scheduled for UMBC's Alumni Field, but moved due to the ongoing construction project at the UMBC Stadium complex. The first pitch is set for 4:00 p.m. and UMBC will be the home team for this game.
A Glance at the Retrievers

- Senior outfielder Ian Diaz (Philadelphia, Pa.) clubbed his first home run of the season, a three-run clout to give UMBC a 3-1 lead after one inning. The Danes rallied to lead, 6-4, but sophomore shortstop Drew Roberts' (Matthews, N.C.) bases- clearing double in the sixth restored a 7-6 lead for the hosts. UMBC extended the advantage to 10-6 before the Danes rallied for three runs in the eighth. Freshman reliever Evan Selmer (Beltsville, Md.), who did allow an earned run in four innings over the weekend, pitched the ninth and earned his second save.
- Graduate student Myles Nicholson (Hagerstown, Md.) bounced back from a 1-for-9 batting line in the first two games to collect 11th multi-hit game of the season in the finale. He leads the team with a .419 batting average and has nine extra-base hits.
