BOSTON-- UMBC women's cross country senior Morgan Casey (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery-Blair) earned her second consecutive All-Academic Team nod after earning the honor this past spring. The Retriever senior was a key part of the team that finished seventh at the conference championships earlier this month.

Casey finished the championships just outside the top five scorers for the Retrievers, finishing in a time of 19:51.85. She had her best run of the season at the Paul Short Invite, running a 23:13.8. Casey scored for the Retrievers in all but two meets during the fall 2021 season. 

The Silver Spring native holds a 4.0-grade point average, majoring in Media and Communication Studies. Casey has made the President's List every semester from the fall of 2018 through the spring of 2021, every semester she has been at UMBC.
