Women's Cross Country Finishes Sixth at America East Championships

Tepper Places 19th Overall

Hopkinton, N.H. – The UMBC women's cross country team finished sixth at the 2025 America East Conference Championships, which took place at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds on Friday morning.

Junior Lexi Tepper completed the 5k course in 18:21.32, earning 19th place overall.

Senior Lily Strelecki and sophomore Katie Schwaner finished in 28th and 29th places, respectively, with Strelecki crossing the finish line in 18:40.80 and Schwaner recording a time of 18:42.33.

Two freshmen, Lilly Norcross and Maddie Wassin, also delivered strong performances in their first championship event. Norcross finished 31st with a time of 18:42.86, while Wassin placed 44th in 18:57.86.

Junior Katelyn Deal finished 47th with a time of 19:00.87, and freshman Micah Haskins came in 57th at 19:25.49, making them UMBC's sixth and seventh finishers.

Maine won the championship with 49 points, narrowly beating runner-up Bryant by just two points. Binghamton (71), Vermont (115), and UMass Lowell (131) also finished ahead of UMBC, which ended with 149 points.
