Women's Cross Country Enjoys Strong Showing at 2025 ECAC Championships

Tepper Earns All-East Honors

Bronx, N.Y. – The UMBC women's cross country team finished 12th out of 24 teams at the 2025 ECAC Championships (6K) held at the historic Van Cortlandt Park on Friday morning.

Junior standout Lexi Tepper earned All-East honors by placing 16th out of 235 finishers with a time of 21:41.0. She had a strong finish, moving up four spots during the final half of the race.

Senior Lily Strelecki was UMBC's second finisher, crossing the line in 22:20.7 (personal best) for 43rd overall.

Junior Erin Grime made a remarkable comeback, advancing 25 slots during the last third of the race to finish 86th with a time of 22:54.3.

Freshmen Micah Haskins and Maddie Wassin continue to impress, completing the scoring for the Retrievers. Haskins finished in 23:05.9 (PR, 103rd), while Wassin followed closely behind in 23:06.3 (105th).

Sophomore Katie Schwaner (23:07.3, 108th) and freshman Lilly Norcross (23:09.1, 111th) narrowly missed scoring points.

UMBC will compete at the America East Championships on October 31st in New Hampshire.
