The UMBC Baseball team will begin the 2026 on the road at Longwood for a three game series starting on Friday. The opener will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, with the final two games of the series now being played as a noon doubleheader on Saturday (both nine innings).
The Retrievers also announced that their scheduled home game against Georgetown on Tuesday 2/24 has been moved to an away game at Georgetown on Wedenesday, 2/25 at 3 p.m. The Hoyas will now come to Baltimore on 4/14 for a 6 p.m. contest.

Anthony Mascuilli was named to the America East Preseason All-Conference Team, the Conference announced in January
Mascuilli was a member of the 2025 America East All-Rookie Team after he batted .303 with 40 hits, 27 runs, 21 RBI and a team-high 31 walks. He was also six for seven on stolen bases and reached via hit-by-pitch 10 times. Â
Scouting Longwood:
- The Lancers rallied but dropped a tough 5-3 decision at #10 North Carolina on Wednesday
- Longwood swept NJIT last weekend to open the season
- After winning the opener, 10-1, they won a 3-2 15 inning marathon in game one of a double header on Saturday.
- The completed both the DH and series sweep with a 15-0 (7) win
- Mac Tufts is slashing .429/.500/1.079, while Brogan Jones leads the team in homers (2) and RBI (8)
- Freshman Brady Hoover pitched six shutout innings, allowing just four hits while striking out six and walking none in the game three win
