200 Medley Relay and Stennett Earn Bronze on Day One of America East Championships

Lexington, Va. -- Ember Stennett and the 200 Medley Relay team of Alice Marini, Breanna Smith, Erma Duratovic and Ashley Gutshall each won a bronze medal as the UMBC Women's Swimming & Diving team completed day one of the America East Championships on Wednesday at VMI

Stennett scored 249.80 in the 1 Meter dive to pick up the fourth medal of her career. The junior is the two-time defending 3 Meter gold medalist, and won silver in the 1 Meter in 2024. Alicia Buteau used a score of 239.40 to earn a fourth place finish. 

The Retrievers opened up the meet by finishing third in the 200 Medley Relay in a time of 1:41.93, and currently sit in second in the team standings with 96 points. 

Day Two of the America East Championships begins at 10 a.m. on Thursday.
