BALTIMORE -- The UMBC Baseball team will make the short trip to College Park to take on the Terps on Tuesday. First pitch on Big Ten Network + is slated for 4 p.m.

Last time out, Danny Wyatt went 3-for-3, while Derek Paris went 2-for-3, but the visiting Retrievers dropped the series finale at Georgetown, 12-2 (7) on Sunday. UMBC won the first two games of the series, 8-7 and 4-3 (10).

Matthew Best had an RBI single, while Anthony Mascuilli had an RBI walk with the bases loaded.

Jesiah Carpenter, Sergio Droz and Mascuilli all had hits for the Dawgs. 

Scouting Maryland:

 Maryland baseball belted five home runs in its seven-inning 22-11 win over Northwestern in the series finale at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The 22 runs scored were a program record for a Big Ten game, surpassing its 20 runs scored against Nebraska on May 7, 2023. Maryland improved to 14-14 and 3-6 in Big Ten play. 

Four of Maryland's five home runs occurred in the first three innings. They were major contributors to the Terps scoring 12 runs through the first three. Alex Calarco hit two, and Eddie Hacopian and Hollis Porter each hit one in just the first three innings. Porter later joined Calarco as Terps to hit multiple HRs in the game. The Terps have four games this season where they have hit four or more home runs in a game as a team.
