Baseball Opens 2025 Campaign in Florida

The UMBC Baseball team heads south to open the 2025 season for three games hosted by Stetson in Florida.

UMBC Probable Rotation:
Friday - Zach Robinson
Saturday - Brady Fox
Sunday - Sergio Droz

The Retrievers are coming off an America East Championship game appearance in 2024 and welcome back redshirt sophomore first baseman Leewood Molessa, who was named to the America East Preseason All-Conference team, as voted on by the League's coaches.

In his freshman season, Molessa had one of the greatest campaigns in UMBC Baseball history. The West Virginia native, was named America East Rookie of the Year, America East All-Conference Second Team, 2023 Collegiate Freshman All-American Team , and had UMBC record 66 RBI on the season. He started 57 games and hit .294 with 16 homers, 47 runs, 15 doubles, one triple, and 21 walks. He also went 4-for-5 in stolen base attempts. Molessa played in the first six games of the 2024 season before missing the rest of the campaign due to injury.
