November Student-Athletes of the Month

The Academic Center for Student-Athletes is proud to announce the November Student-Athletes of the Month!

Abbie Frisvold, Softball
Ava Huffman, Women's Cross Country

"Ava has made the transition from high school to college seamlessly, she has done a great job of staying on top of her academics while also competing. She takes advantage of her study hall hours and comes to meetings prepared. I am excited to see the great things Ava will do during her time here at UMBC." -Meg Bossey, Academic Advisor

"Abbie has taken her first semester of college head on! She is committed to excellence in every area and has done an outstanding job managing a rigorous course load - all while maintaining a consistently positive attitude. Abbie is proactive in her communication with professors and goes above and beyond to ensure her hard work is reflected in her grades. I am incredibly proud of her efforts and excited to see her continued growth in the semesters ahead!" -Essence Brown, academic advisor.

These students have prioritized their academics during their first semester by taking advantage of all the resources available including study hall and academic meetings as well as their instructors. Their commitment and dedication are reflected in their coursework and they have been recognized for the month of November for their efforts.

Our Student-Athletes of the Month recipients will be recognized on our Instagram (@umbcacsa) and Twitter (@UMBC_ACSA) accounts as well as on the tv's displays throughout ACSA.
