February Student-Athletes of the Month

The Academic Center for Student-Athletes is proud to announce the February Student-Athletes of the Month

DJ Armstrong, Men's Basketball
Owen Shaprow, Baseball

"DJ has done an exemplary job of balancing his graduate studies with his athletic requirements. He communicates with his instructors and classmates to ensure he stays on top of his coursework and his diligence has contributed to his academic success. DJ is a role model both on the court and in the classroom." - Adriana Mason, Associate Athletic Director, Academics

"Owen is an extremely dedicated student-athlete. He has excelled in his courses and managed his difficult major courses wonderfully. He comes to our meetings prepared and ready to discuss everything going on in his classes. He is proactive when it comes to things like meeting with professors and on-campus advisors to ensure he is prepared for what's to come. I'm looking forward to seeing Owen continue to excel both on and off the field." - Meg Bossey, Academic Advisor

These students prioritize academics along with their athletic commitments and the result is success both in the classroom as well as on the court and field. The dedication they exhibit towards their academics will continue to help them excel and they have been recognized for the month of February for their achievements.

Our Student-Athletes of the Month recipients will be recognized on our Instagram (@umbcacsa), Website (https://umbcretrievers.com/sports/academic-center) as well as on the tv's displays throughout ACSA.
