WHY UMBC?
"I chose UMBC because the family environment really stood out to me. Coach Candice reminded me of the kind of coaching I've always had, someone who believes in me, sees my potential, and never gives up on me. It just feels like the right place to grow and be myself."

FROM COACH HILL
"I am so excited to welcome Sydney and her family to Retriever Nation. A Baltimore product, Sydney will continue to add to our identity of GRIT & TOUGHNESS. Her ability to play on both sides of the ball will make an immediate impact on our program. WHY UMBC?
"This school provides great opportunities for me, not only once I step on campus, but as well as five years down the road when I'm in dentistry school, as the institution provides a great resource for my professional interest in the dentistry career. The women's basketball team also made me feel right at home, from the coaches to the players. They didn't simply show interest. They made me feel wanted. The environment and culture of the team and school as a whole made it less difficult for me to picture my next four years here"

FROM COACH HILL
"I am thrilled to welcome Cai and her family to UMBC. Cai will bring size, athleticism, and versatility to our program. She embodies all the qualities of a UMBC student-athlete! Retriever Nation will enjoy all the success Cai will bring us on and off the court."
