Danilovitz Leads Men's Cross Country at Paul Short Invitational

Lehigh, Pa. – The UMBC men's cross country team participated in the 2025 Paul Short Run, held on Friday morning at Lehigh University's Goodman Campus Cross Country Course. The squad registered their best average time in program history, 24:54.3, on the Paul Short course.

The Retrievers finished 27th out of 40 teams in the 8K race. Sophomore Daniel Danilovitz led UMBC with a time of 24:39.2, marking his best performance of the season. He started in 262nd place at the one-mile mark but made significant progress to finish 123rd. Freshman Joey Ensor was the second finisher for UMBC, placing 156th with a time of 24:52.9.

Sophomores Justin Banks and Kieran Mischke rounded out the team's top four finishers, with Banks completing the race in 24:59.7 (166th place) and Mischke finishing in 25:02.7 (172nd place).

Senior Thomas Foulkes (25:02.7), junior Sofiane Compaorg (25:24.2), and sophomore Weston Carr (25:42.6) completed the scoring for the Retrievers.

The Retrievers will next compete at the IC4A Championships on Friday, October 17, at the historic Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, N.Y.
