Hopkinton, N.H. – The UMBC men's cross country team finished third at the 2025 America East Conference Championships, which took place at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds on Friday morning. This marks the Retrievers' first team trophy at the event since they earned a bronze in 2014. UMBC earned its fourth team trophy in the America East Conference, marking their third bronze finish. The Retrievers placed fourth overall in 2024.
Sophomore standout
Daniel Danilovitz achieved the third-fastest 8k time in program history, finishing fifth overall with a time of 24:31.09. This performance is the best by a Retriever in a decade, matching the fifth-place finish of Austin Hayslett.
UMBC placed three additional runners in the top 16, led by redshirt freshman
Joey Ensor, who completed the course in 24:53.53. Sophomore
Justin Banks followed closely behind with a 14th place finish at 24:56.81, while sophomore
Kieran Mischke finished 16th with a time of 25:01.43.
Freshman
Kieran White was the Dawgs' fifth finisher, placing 40th with a time of 25:44.41.
Junior
Sofiane Compaorg finished in 51st place with a time of 26:04.50, and senior
Thomas Foulkes came in 60th, finishing in 26:28.60, making them UMBC's sixth and seventh performers, respectively.
UMass Lowell won the event with 24 points followed by Binghamton (38) and UMBC (85).
Danilovitz (First Team), Ensor (Second Team), and Banks (Third Team) all received All-Conference recognition.
