UMBC Baseball pitcher Sam Downs has inked a pro contract with the Ottawa Titans of the Frontier League. 

Downs was a America East First Team All-Conference reliever for the Retrievers this past season. He finished 4-1 with five saves and a team-best 2.83 ERA in 20 appearances (six starts). He was also named to the 2023-24 Academic All-District® Baseball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, and was selected as a CSC Academic All-America finalist.

Downs joins former Retriever All-Conference selection AJ Wright ('19) on the Titans.
