The UMBC Baseball team looks to get back in the win column when it begins a six-game home stand by hosting Maryland Eastern Shore on Tuesday night at Alumni Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. and fans can watch for free on AmericaEast.TV.
The two teams met on March 15 in Salisbury, with the Hawks taking a wild, 8-7, victory. It was the first ever victory over UMBC for Eastern Shore.
In the game, sophomore third basemanÂ
Matt Ryan was the lone Retriever to collect multiple hits, as he went 2-for-4, with two runs scored and an RBI. UMBC put 20 runners on base, but stranded 11against ten different Hawk pitchers.

- The Dawgs won a 6-5 contest to open up the weekend at Bryant, before dropping the final two games, 7-3 and 8-5Â
- In the rubber match on Sunday, UMBC sent the tying run to the plate in the top of the ninth, but couldn't complete the comeback.
- After falling behind 2-0 in the first, Anthony Swenda (Bridgeport, Pa.) hit a two-run homer to tie the game, and Matt Ryan (Bethesda, Md.) then hit a solo shot to put UMBC (15-17, 6-6 AE) up 3-2 in the fourth. The lead was short-lived, however, as Bryant put up three in the bottom of the fourth and then added three more in the sixth.Â
