Baseball Falls, 9-4, at No.20 UConn

Box Score Storrs, Conn. -- Evan Selmer (Beltsville, Md.) struck out four in two perfect innings of work, while Leewood Molessa (Pullman, W.Va.) and Matt Ryan (Bethesda, Md.) each homered, but the UMBC Baseball Team fell at #20 UConn, 9-4, on Friday afternoon.

Molessa collected two hits on the day, including his team-best eighth homer of the year on a solo shot in the sixth.

In the eight, Molessa would single and Ryan would launch a two-out, two-run himer over the fence in left.

Dawson Baracani (Sammamish, Wash.), Michael Cilio (Chester, N.J.) and Tony Krueger (Appleton, Wisc.) also had hits for the Retrievers.

Josh Rivera (Leesburg, Va.) also worked a pair of scoreless innings in relief, striking out two.

The two teams will meet again tomorrow at 2:05 p.m. at Dunkin' Park in Hartford.
