UMBC Baseball Announces 2024 Schedule

UMBC Baseball head coach Liam Bowen announced the Retrievers' 2024 schedule on Wednesday. The 50-game schedule features 25 contests at home and 25 on the road, including the program's first ever trip to both California and Texas

The Retrievers went 30-27 during the 2023 season, which included a 16-8 mark in the America East Conference. The 16 wins were the most for UMBC since joining the America East and the 2nd place finish tied for highest finish.

The season begins the weekend of February 23 with a three-game series at 2023 NCAA Tournament participant Santa Clara. Last season, the Broncos claimed their first WCC Tournament title and the first championship overall since 1997, the last time they made the NCAA Tournament.

The Retrievers return to the east coast for a Tuesday matchup at George Washington, before opening up the home slate that weekend with three games against Monmouth.

A five-game road trip begins with a Tuesday, March 5 game at Navy, followed by a three game set in Texas at Lamar that weekend. A quick trip to Towson for a midweek afternoon contest closes the trip on March 12.

The Retrievers welcome Yale for three games (including a Sunday doubleheader) that weekend followed by a Tuesday game at Maryland Eastern Shore.

UMBC begins a season-best five game homestand the following day when Delaware State comes to Alumni Field. America East play opens that weekend against Binghamton, and the homestand closes on March 26 against local rival Coppin State.

A trip to Rhode Island to face Bryant is on deck after that, followed by midweek home contests against Maryland (4/2) and Navy (4/3).

After a bye weekend, the Dawgs play at Maryland on April 9, before returning home to host an America East series against UAlbany that weekend and then a Tuesday contest against Georgetown.

A pair of America East series at NJIT (4/19-21) and UMass Lowell (4/26-28) are sandwiched around a midweek home game against Towson on April 23.

UMBC begins the month of May by hosting defending America East champion Maine on the weekend of May 2. The following Tuesday and Wednesday, the Retrievers play at Georgetown and Delaware State.

The road portion of the regular season slate concludes with three games at Binghamton (5/10-12), before returning home for the final four games of the season.

The non-conference schedule concludes against Maryland Eastern Shore on May 14 and then the regular season wraps with a three-game series against Bryant May 16-18.

The America East tournament begins the following week at Binghamton.
