Sila, Hindle Earn America East Cross Country All Conference Honors

The juniors place 11th and 14th respectively at the championship meet.

Orono, Maine – UMBC juniors Baraka Sila and Cameron Hindle each earned America East All-Conference honors at the 2023 America East Women's Cross Country Championships held at the Penobscot Valley Country Club.

Sila placed 11th overall, while Hindle duplicated his effort from a year ago with a 14th place finish.

"Baraka and Cameron had great races to both earn second team all-conference honors." said Head Coach Mike DuPaul.

Sila posted a time of 25:03.19, missing the top ten by less than .25 seconds and slicing over nine seconds off of his time in the previous meet. Hindle posted a mark of 25:14.39 to earn his second consecutive All-Conference accolade.

The other three Retriever scorers are finished in the top 40. Senior Zachary Taylor finished in 31 st position, followed by freshman John Saltysiak (33rd) and senior Daron Taylor (40th).

UMBC produced 123 points – good for third place – but 49 points ahead of seventh place Bryant and just 26 shy of third place UNH and Binghamton.
UMass Lowell won its fourth consecutive title.
