Baseball Announces 2023 Schedule

UMBC Baseball head coach Liam Bowen announced the Retrievers' 2023 schedule on Wednesday. The schedule features 25 home contests, including Maryland's first trip to Alumni Field since 2010.

The season begins with a rare mid-week opener at Delaware on Tuesday, February 21. After that, UMBC heads to College of Charleston for a weekend series against the perennial CAA power. The Retrievers then play their home-opener at Alumni Field, in the newly renovated UMBC Stadium Complex, on Tuesday, February 28 against Delaware State at 3 P.M.

UMBC then heads to Dover that weekend for a tournament, with two games against host Delaware State and one against Saint Peter's. The Retrievers then head down the road ro a mid-week matchup at Maryland before playing a weekend series at Mount St. Mary's.

The Retrievers then host Bucknell for a Tuesday matinee before heading to Maryland Eastern Shore the next day. Maine then visits that weekend to open America East play, before UMBC again hits the road for a mid-week game at Coppin State and then a three game America East series at UAlbany, 

UMBC returns to Baltimore for a Wednesday match-up against Navy before heading north for a weekend series at national power Connecticut. Another local road mid-week contest awaits as the travel to Towson a few days later,  before returning to America East action that weekend by hosting NJIT.

A Wednesday night home game against Navy is next on the schedule before heading to Rhode Island to face America East newcomer Bryant in a weekend series. A Tuesday home rematch with Maryland Eastern Shore awaits before UMass Lowell comes to town for a three-game America East series. 

Maryland makes its long awaited return to Alumni Field that Tuesday night, followed by a home rematch with Coppin State. After a weekend America East series at Binghamton, UMBC returns home to face George Washington that Tuesday before heading to Maine for the weekend in their final road trip of the season. 

The Retrievers then close the regular season with eight consecutive home games, beginning with a Tuesday night contest against Towson. UAlbany then comes to town for the final America East series of the season, before a mid-week game against Delaware and a Thursday-Friday, three game series against VMI.

The America East Tournament will then begin the following week at Binghamton.
