Men's Soccer Wraps Up Weekend as Iona Visits RSP on Sunday Evening

GAME PROGRAM

BALTIMORE – After a dramatic overtime victory versus La Salle on Friday evening, the UMBC men's soccer squad (1-1-1) faces an experienced and talented Iona (0-2-0) squad to complete the UMBC-Navy Classic on Sunday evening, Sept. 5. Kick-off time at Retriever Soccer Park is 7:00 p.m. and the contest will be broadcast on the America East digital network.

Navy (2-0-1) will host La Salle (1-2-0) on Sunday evening.

All three UMBC contests have been decided by a single goal (or a tie). The Retrievers opened with a 2-2 double overtime draw versus Navy, dropped a 4-3 decision at nationally-ranked Maryland prior to the 3-2 overtime win over the Explorers.

Junior midfielder Ryan Becher (Hummelstown, Pa.) leads the potent Retriever offense with three goals and one assist. He scored the game-tying goal in the 82' and drew an assist on sophomore striker Taylor Calheira's (Towson, Md./Concordia Prep) game-winner in the 99'.
