BALTIMORE - Courtney Renehan (Mt. Airy, Md./Glenelg/Maryland) led the offensive charge for the UMBC women's lacrosse team but 11 different Retrievers contributed a goal in Saturday's 25-7 victory over Hartford.

UMBC moves to 2-2 on the year and picks up its first victory in America East conference play for a 1-1 mark. Hartford falls to 0-2 on the year and in conference contests.
STRAIGHT FACTS
The Retrievers opened the game on a 4-1 tear with eight-meter goals from Renehan and Dymin Gerow (Baltimore, Md./Episcopal), as well as scores from Claire Bockstie (Forest Hills, Md./Maryvale Preparatory) and Megan Halczuk (Fawn Grove, Pa.).
The Hawks closed the gap to 5-3 after scoring around another Renehan goal, but the Retrievers put up four straight. Bocksite got things started on a man-up opportunity off an assist from Rachel Ridgley (Owings Mills, Md./Franklin) before Olivia Docal (Glenwood, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) scored off another free-position goal for the Retrievers.
Bockstie added her third of the day at the 14:09 mark to put UMBC up, 8-3, before Lily Kennedy (Marriottsville, Md./Marriotts Ridge) scored a minute later to extend the lead.
Hartford capped UMBC's scoring run at the 12:08 mark with a man-up goal, but Renehan scored four of the last six goals of the first half for UMBC to give the Retrievers a 15-4 lead at halftime.
Out of the gate in the second half, the Retrievers got three quick goals from Jenna McDermott (Westminster, Md./South Carroll), Renehan, and Gerow off a pass from Lillian Begley (Gaithersburg, Md./Mother of Divine Grace) to take an 18-4 lead.
The Hawks picked up a man-down goal at the 21:05 mark before Katie Schluederberg (Elkridge, Md./Howard/Penn State) scored around a Ridgley goal to extend UMBC's lead to 16.
Hartford scored two goals at the 12:12 and 7:20 marks on the clock, but UMBC got two goals from Camden Demaio (Frederick, Md./Urbana), another eight-meter goal from Halczuk, and a final score from Begley to close out the afternoon.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
23 - the number of draw controls won by UMBC on the day, which marks a season-high. Halczuk controlled a game-high seven.
13 - the number of Retrievers who scored a point in the contest; there were 11 different goal scorers and two (Megan Cleverly and Mary Ellis) with just assists.
