West Hartford, CT--The UMBC Retrievers misfired on all eleven shots from behind the arc, and committed 20 turnovers as they bowed out of the America East Conference Tournament with a 55-30 setback to #7-seeded Northeastern. UMBC finishes the campaign at 4-24.
After falling behind, 12-4 to start the contest, UMBC trimmed the deficit to 20-15, after a layup by Erin Voss. But the Huskies scored the final six points of the first half to take a 26-15 advantage at intermission. UMBC briefly crept to within nine points early in the half, but the Huskies cruised to the 25-point victory.
Freshman Shari Rohde was the lone Retriever in double figures with 10 points. UMBC was outrebounded, 42-26, and permitted NU 16 offensive boards.
