JMU Invite Results
With a weekend packed full of competition, the UMBC women's track and field team sent split squads to Bucknell and James Madison on Saturday.
Katie Schwaner placed seventh at Bucknell and moved into fourth place on the school's all-time list in the 800 meters with a time of 2:09.93.
Lyna Beraich placed 24th in the 5000 meters with a time of 16:56.45, the third fastest time in program history.
Lily Strelecki placed sixth in the 3,000 steeplechase with an effort of 11:15.67.
Emily Mitroka finished 26th in 11:43.84, moving into eighth on the school list.
Katelyn Deal and
Lydia Nelson competed in the unseeded 1,500 event and placed second and fourth, respectively, with personal-best times of 4:39.22 and 4:39.77.
At JMU,
Marie Abongwa led the way by winning the hammer (51.81 meters) and placing second in the discus. Her effort of 40.59 meters was a personal best, and she remains ninth on the all-time list.
Winter Evans won the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.07 and placed fourth in the high jump (1.58 meters).
Destiny Baker placed fourth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:04.20.
Ruth Ayuk-Takor was sixth in the 400 meters (57.34) and 10th in the 200 meters (25.19).
Maame Manu placed eighth in the 400 meters in 58.89.
