200 Free Relay Team Breaks Records as Men's Swimming & Diving Wins Five More Medals on Day 2 at America East Championships

Lexington, Va. -- The 200 Free Relay team of Sean Neils, Stefano Perez, Axel Mori and Braden Weise set a UMBC/America East/Meet record as the UMBC Men's Swimming & Diving team picked up another impressive medal haul on the second day of the America East Championships at VMI.

The gold medal winning 200 free relay quartet finished in 1:18.65, winning by nearly two seconds overall and besting the previous record by nearly a full second. 

The Retrievers earned two gold medals in the 50 free as Perez and Weise tied for first in 19.87, with Neils picking up the bronze in 20.01 and Mori finishing fourth in 20.03.

Tyler Kay earned a bronze in the 200 IM in 1:48.34, while Felipe Taveira Lira took fourth with a time of 1:48.78.

UMBC heads into the third day of the America East Championships in first place with 300 points. Binghamton is in second with 280.
