Philadelphia, Pa - The UMBC women's outdoor track and field squad recorded some terrific performances at the prestigious Penn Relays this past weekend.
Sophomore
Genelle Stephens was sensational in the 400-meter hurdles as she turned in the fastest time in the America East Conference this season. Her time of 59.84 is also the second-best result in program history.
The Retrievers' 4x400 relay team currently has the best performance in the league after their time of 3:41.89, which was good for second place. The foursome consisted of Junior

Shannel Sibblies, and Stephens,
UMBC's 4x100 relay placed fifth in 47.31 behind
Za'Kayza Parsons, McDonald, Stephens, and Creel.
The Dawgs now hold the top time in the 4x800 relay as the quartet of sophomore

Lexi Tepper, freshman
Katie Schwaner, and junior
Judy McLaughlin finished in 9:08.54.
The distance medley relay finished at 12:23.78 (junior

Freshman
Janine Amefia recorded the seventh-best result in UMBC history in the triple jump with a leap of 11.37 meters (37-3.75).
Senior
Marie Abongwa placed 22nd overall in the shot put with an effort of 13.45 meters (44-1.50).
