Austin, Texas - Senior defender
Ricky Schissler was named to the 2025 Academic All-America® men's soccer Third Team as selected by the College Sports Communicators.
Schissler, a defender boasts a 4.00 GPA in Media & Communication Studies. He has been selected for the 2025 America East All-Academic Team and has received President's List honors for Spring '24, Fall '24, and Spring '25. The Fallston, Maryland native was also named to the America East Commissioner's Honor Roll for Fall '24 and was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society.
Hailing from Fallston, Maryland, Schissler scored four goals this past season, achieving this feat in four consecutive games against George Washington, UMass Lowell, Binghamton, and NJIT. His goal against UMass Lowell marked his first game-winning goal in Baltimore. The Archbishop Curley graduate also provided an assist in a 1-0 victory against Saint Peter's.

Schissler becomes the
28th Retriever and the
fourth representative of the men's soccer program honored since 1977.
Liam Paddock (2012), Billy Heavner (2015), and
Lasse Kelp (2023) are the other men's soccer student-athletes to earn top national academic honors.
Established in 1952 and selected by
College Sports Communicators (CSC), Academic All-America is the longest running and premier award for athletic and academic success across championship college sports at all NCAA levels, the NAIA, two-year colleges and Canadian institutions.
