RETRIEVER RECAP
- UMBC scored four times in the first 4:16 of the contest and never looked back en route to a convincing 21-5 win at UMass Lowell on Saturday afternoon.
- It was the first time the Retrievers eclipsed 20 goals in a contest since a 20-11 win against Vermont in 2007. It was the most goals the Retrievers have scored since scoring 22 in a win over Radford in 1997.
-  Allen Hockenberry and Josh Tang each collected hat tricks, while Mike Doughty tallied two goals and four assists. Jayson Tingue made nine saves to pick up the win.Â
DAWG BITES
- Doughty has produced multiple-assist games in six of UMBC's first eight outings and is ranked 3rd nationally and first in the AE with 3.50 assists per game. Doughty hit the 100-point mark (41-65-106, t-32nd program history) and became UMBC's first player to reach 50 helpers since Max Maxwell (66 career assists) achieved the mark in 2016. Doughty is currently second in the league with 4.14 points per game. He needs eight more helpers to move into UMBC's all-time Top-10 list in the category.
- Senior attacker Brian Tregoning is second in the America East with 4.00 points and leads the circuit with 3.00 goals per game. He had back-to-back eight-point efforts recently versus Merrimack and UAlbany. Tregoning is 10th in the nation in goals per game.
- Senior face-off specialist Zach Dudley, who is sixth in the league with a .538 face-off percentage, became the sixth Retriever to reach the 300-win plateau earlier this season and has compiled 358 career draws. He's also fourth on the circuit with 6.57 ground balls per game and is 18th in the country.
- Tingue leads the AE in goals against average (10.65), and his 9.92 career goals against average ranks fourth among all active NCAA goalies.
- UMBC is seventh in the NCAA with a .907 clearing percentage and is 18th with a .440 man-up clip.

- The Bearcats won 11-10 in overtime last Saturday at Vermont. Gage Adams and Liam Ferris both recorded hat-tricks, and Connor Winters made 18 saves in the cage.
